Origin8, one of Ghana’s leading advertising, marketing, public relations, and events management company has donated items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Teshie Orphanage in Accra.
The company presented bags of rice, oil, detergents, soaps, and beverages among others as part of its 20th-anniversary celebration.
Speaking at a short ceremony to present the items, Chief Executive Officer of Origin8, William Ansah said Origin8 has survived over the past two decades and it is important to support the community within which the company operates.
Mr. Ansah explained that the orphanage was selected because of the great work they are doing to support the children in the home.
He added that Origin8 will continue to support the good course of the orphanage and further encouraged the managers of the home to remain steadfast in their good work.
Moses Lamptey, a manager at the home, speaking on behalf of the founder of the home, Mrs. Janet Parker, explained that the orphanage has produced graduates from both second circle and tertiary institutions in the country.
Mr. Lamptey added that he is also from the same orphanage and currently comes over to support the founder of the orphanage who is now old and unable to do a lot of activities.
According to him, some of the children are currently in tertiary institutions, senior and junior high schools, as well as nursery schools while others have also graduated from nursing training schools and other tertiary schools.
He further stated that they are building a new dormitory for the children and also seek to increase the number of inmates in the house and thus appealed to other organizations for support to complete the building.
